Over all i give the movie a 8.5 out of 10
I walk in to this movie with mixed emotions based on all the the reviews I have read and some of the cast selections but, i was actually surprised by the movie .. I understood the fact that it is a movie that has a smaller time frame than a TV series and comic book so i was disappointed with all the changes in story. I have to admit when people said that acting sucked i almost expected a bomb based on actors ... BUT i thought they did a decent job.
Now for scenes in the movie starting out in the beginning with Destro(David Murray) I didn't understand what the whole thing was about and it made it seem like Destro was going to be this guy who lived a very long time until the climax of the movie. when Duke(Channing Tatum) found out that his ex fiance Ana Lewis is The Baroness(Sienna Miller) he uses that later to get his self and Rip-Cord(Marlon Wayans) on to the Team to catch the group who attacked his team. Duke and Rip Cord are then sent in to a quick test lead by Sgt. Stone(Brendan Fraser)to see if they are right for the team (G.I. Joe). They then start giving Back ground on rest of the Joes. The Baroness, Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), and Storm Shadow(Lee Byung-hun) break in to the PIT to steal the warheads back from G.I. Joe and while doing so cause a lot of Damage. Zartan kills off Cover Girl(Karolína Kurková) "so that sucked cause she wont be able to be a character in and Sequels". and then attack Gen. Hawk(Dennis Quaid) and seriously hurt him to the point he is in a comma. While they make their escape Snake-Eyes(Ray Park) & Storm Shadow battle and during this they flash back to their backgrounds as enemies and we find out they are raised and trained together.During the battle Baroness and Storm Shadow escape with the war heads.
Skip a few scenes later they find out that the War Heads are in London England. So the team heads off to London and retrieve and stop cobra from blowing up something up. This is the first time we get to see the Sigma Suits in action(Yes they are as kewl as they sound wish they was real) but as Duke and Rip cord chase them down they have to end up splitting off and going after Both the war head and kill switch. During this well they didn't make it in time and the Eiffel Tower is shot and begins to get ate away buy the nanotechnology. Duke us chasing after the Baroness she gets away on a chopper, Duke then jumps from a building into the chopper. He hits the button stopping the nanotechnology rom eating everything in the city. Storm Shadow then knocks him out and they take him back because James McCullen(Christopher Eccleston) wants him for a special project. As they are walking through the entrance to the facility Duke fights to grab the case and well knowing he wouldn't get far he turns the tracking device back on Thus alerting Breaker(Saïd Taghmaoui) of the whereabouts of the base. Down in the base McCullen proceeds to do what all the Villians do and tell Duke his plans to take over the world .. (he also reviles somewhere in the movie that his ancestor was called Destro) so when they take Duke in to the lab and strap him down Joe starts attacking the base .during the confusion the Baroness snaps in to reality and realizes how much she loved Duke and trys to rescue him .. Not knowing that the Dr. who everyone(including me) thought was Doctor Mindbender wasn't him But the Brother to Baroness aka Ana Rex Lewis(Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who while on a mission with Duke when he was in the army with him was trapped in a secret lab with the real Doctor Mindbender (Kevin O'Connor). he has wanted revenge on Duke and didn't care how it happened he even trys to kill his sister.During the Battle at Cobra base the Dr. and McCullen escape in a sub the DR. then injects a fluid in McCullen (ho was by this time Burned from a blast back at the base) the fluid then transforms his face in to the Metal mask that we know as Destro and this has a control for the Doctor to control him. And while he has his back turned he puts on a mask and tells Destro to call him Commander so this makes the Doctor "Cobra Commander"... Gotta love the connection between Duke, Baroness, and Cobra Commander.
Meanwhile back at the Cobra Base Snake-Eyes & Storm Shadow are fighting once again and it gets huge (great fight scene) during this fight snake eyes seems to kill storm shadow BUT, his body falls in to the water and that's the last of that scene SO u know how movies go based on comics they could bring him back in a future movie.
Now the end of movie Joe captures Cobra Commander and Destro and lock them up .. ... but as the presidents is being lead back into his office he sits down and starts to Whistle the same tune that Zartan does so you know what that means............
